I do wonder if part of the "attack Taiwan" motive is to create jingoistic nationalism in the state serfs to keep their minds off the possibility that things should run differently in China.

My sense is that it is a committee that is currently running China. Until someone takes over the committee, I don't think they have any complex vision.

I think what the committee is looking to do is to keep a low profile, retain "control", and continue the perks that go to people on the committee.

I think the jingoistic nationalism is part of the Internet and in that, I agree, the committee is not stopping this movement, thinking that, at least, it is not a movement that is looking for "freedom" and the right to choose their own leaders.

Of course this is going to backfire on them. When they are organized for jingoistic purposes, what would it take for them to change course and go after the committee (or communist party).

There is no way this party is going to last. I just hope that when it crumbles, it does not have dire consequences for the rest of the world.

Well, Yiwu isn't young, and besides, she's not in China, she's here, allegedly, although my guess is that she's actually a committee. As is Bubba, who is also not young.

Jay used to be a person, and that person was not young, either.

No skin off their nose if a lot of young Chinese men die.

"Tell the young males there's a war looming and their eyes widen, pupils dilate, energy levels zoom and they spend a lot less time trying to displace the alpha males. Then, the young go off to war and the old guys look after the girls back at base and have a feast."

There is also a surplus of young males in China... the only trouble with focusing people on outside enemies is that eventually you have to follow through? I can't see this happening or ever making sense.
