Whatever they publish on average PE ratios for these indexes is fictitous anyway. FNM, FRE,AIG, MBIA, GM all these companies are proving that theres a lot of hidden problems and stock options are not fully accounted for. Derivative risk is not priced in the market either imo.

A lot of companies have improved financials by laying of huge numbers of employees or discontinuing research and development or exploration for new resources.

So we have made things look good for the short term at the expense of the future imo

There is still value in the stock market but not in the big names that have been pumped up to make the indexes look good imo.
