Very interesting comments.

don't quote latin

I once had a state judge get upset with me for citing a federal case in a low level criminal matter. I found out later that I was the only one who didn't plead out that day and he was late for his fishing date. The court officer was laughing when I asked him about it later. Of course, 1 year out of law school and I figured it was the right thing to do to cover every angle.

His words were, "that's a federal case, we don't give much thought to those here."

As for truthfulness, those who tend to scam and lie in person do it on the internet and will try to do it in court. That's one of the reasons you rarely see a criminal defendant on the stand (among other reasons.)

Remember how many of the followers claimed there would be no conviction and that the Batman defense would save the day? The high horse is easy to knock down in court. Hypocrisy, trying to silence others, while only the self-annointed crusaders have their word heard, can't happen before a fair judge.

Good luck to you.
