I think the UAW is a special interest like any of Bush's special interests, and it has to be stood up to sometimes. On the other hand, the unions have really gotten the shaft in recent years. That is bad for the middleclass in this country. Where are future consumers going to come from if the middleclass can hardly survive? Oh yeah, they buy ultra cheap Chinese goods at Walmart and put all the mom and pop stores out of business. Kerry had it right. We can't do everything for workingclass Americans, but we certainly need to stand up for them more. We also ned to stand up for the environment more. And we need a government which knows how to balance a budget and investigate crooked cronies and gasoline gougers. What we don't need is more government on the side of fat cats and out-sourcers.
