However, as we discussed on another list, CPR is pretty darn useless and, even if successful, can do much harm. How about "If the EEG is flat for 1 hour, cut off everything."? Various laws determine when you are allowed to be declared dead (brain dead). I don't know of any place that would permit pronouncing on the sole basis of an EEG remaining flat for one hour. - Holly
