Total white is extremely difficult for people to be in the presence of in terms of rooms, glaring white houses, roofs, roads-----white causes severe headaches for people imo. Several years ago I replaced or had replaced a black roof. I found that the gentlest color on the eyes and nerves is forest green. Forest green blends in with the environment----and makes a house cooler in the summer without reflecting on the environment surrounding the house as would a white roof or a white house. Reg. energy----at this time it has to be a multiple approach---depending on the area of the world one lives in-----solar energy in the sunny area, volcanic steam in the areas where this is possible----i.e. Hawaii big island, combination solar and other methods in the colder areas, coal, natural gas, wood, etc. and even oil. For heating and cooling of homes oil has just about disappeared so oil not a factor in heating in most houses. For Autos------fuel efficient vehicles is a must----from observations over the years the major designers of autos are working on this and often improve on this. It takes time to move to new modes of fuel---appears we are moving along but not as rapid as many of us would like. Regarding gas for cars-----gas has become ever more expensive; however, I see no reduction in people driving in our area---as the increase has not yet hit their pocketbook. Part of this is due to the cars becoming more efficient over the years and many families with two incomes and more able to afford the increases. Re. Alaska-----I too would prefer that Alaska remain untouched---however, don't believe that will happen-----Americans don't want to be dependent on foreign oil. mj
