I agree that you can't step in the same river twice, but I think it remains to be seen whether they've lost their ability to reinvent themselves. Certainly reinvention is risky, but a large part of the financial woes of the past few years are the result of a few missteps long ago (specifically, growing infrastructure, especially headcount and associated real estate, to support assumed continued prosperity, and the ill-advised Cobalt acquisition). Having to deal with those issues has probably hampered the rate at which reinvention could proceed, as well. That said, I'm a bit annoyed that they could miss expectations and still fail to ship me the stuff I ordered in February. JMHO. Charles Tutt (SM)
