Uh, you don't think those- -suits and the press- -attract attention? If the press doesn't attract attention, WHAT DOES?Anytime it is public it is under deeper scrutiny. Think so? Watch what happens the next time Ford produces a death trap.Interesting LAZ, as I, as a Canadian , have yet to meet anyone who has had to do this. Apparently you meet a different class of Canadian than I do.That has always been the war cry of the, again, right wing , who's compassionate conservatism stops after they leave their respective churchs Sunday morning , and look at their tax bills on Monday Morning.<GG>> You might want to save that line for the religious. I'm not one of them. However, this is another very huge problem that Canada had to put the clamps on a few years back. That was the massive influx of Americans who live near the border seeking medical treatment here. They would provide false indentification or other such things to circumvent the system. Gimme a break. You think if the US gov't started giving away "free" gasoline, half of Canada wouldn't be down here trying to remember not to say "Eh"?It was costing border provinces 100's of millions a year. It would cost us that if we tried a scheme like the above. It's something of a variant of the problem we have with our southern border. However, I would like to see limited private clinics allowed here and a small amount of user fees. Long read:cmaj.ca Actually, it seems that private medical practice is legal, although 6 of the 10 provinces have things set up so it would make no sense at all. Hope I got that right. Rushed at the moment. This would allow for an alternative in some cases for those who so choose, and the user fees would cause people to be more conservative in their use of the system I think. One of the known problems of "free" systems is overuse.
