Bush should have told us the truth. "I want to take over the Iraqi oilfields because they're in the hands of a crazy dictator who may or may not have WMD's. We must disarm Saddam and arrest him. Then we will bring oil prices down and at the same time try to conserve energy because we're running out of oil on this planet. But first we should finish the job against Al Qaida."

Instead, he told us Saddam may use nukes against us and implied he was behind 9-11, then denied it had anything to do with oil and gave Halliburton a big chunk of the dough which they proceeded to rip off. The oilfields are now in the hands of Bush cronie mega-corps and we and the Iraqis don't get anything. Further, Bush also used the war to steal an election in the US, smear anyone who questioned his motives and call the UN and our old allies all irrelevant. Most of all though he just lied, lied, lied and cheated. With no remorse. And largely ignored Al Qaida in the process.

The EU has left the Middle East a muddled up mess. The ME is just like the old west: Easterners and Europeans come to rob the resources and promote thugs because of the resultant anarchy that allows them to steal at will. It takes a cowboy sheriff to come in a clean things up.
