I did think you sort of glossed over the number one export the USA has which is agriculture, made possible of course by cheap illegal migrant labor (different topic).

If I am not mistaken - agricultural trade recently went negative

Bean prices went parabolic last year then crashed not because of inflation or demand from China but because of bean rust in Brazil.

If someone found a cure for bean rust the price of soybeans would likely crash (weather dependent of course ggg)

Some Have Remarked That Our Greatest Export is the Dollar.

I think the twist is as follows: "What does WMD really stand for?"

We Manufacture Dollars.

Meanwhile, Uncle Buck is once again having trouble today.

Going forward, we likely will indeed do well exporting agriculture--and coal. All priced in cheap USD.
