I have looked at a lot of GOOG's beta stuff, someone here posted a link about thier new mapping service. I just don't foresee myself using it - but it is neat tech. I like thier newsgroup tech - but have only used it a few times when my local nntp newsserver was down. I use yahoo email and would have switched to goog GMail but yahoo upped the email inbox limit so I have no incentive to change now. The social networks goog is testing have zero use to me. I used to use ICQ,MSN,AOL,Odigo,Yahoo messenger - all that stuff - but then I found most people on those messenger social programs were very sad. More wasted money from my viewpoint. The one thing I like about GOOG is the search, one of my college professors Dr. Meghabghab worked with them on searching algorithm technology, but if I had to pay a lot for it, I would seek free lesser alternatives and I don't think I have ever bought anything from ads on their service but I do have redneck friends in georgia that buy a lot of GOOG so they can be invested in the internet?? We have a local carmax here in clearwater and I see a lot of turnover at thier lot, they tried to get my business but they wanted to give me too little for my car and I got much more putting an ad in autotrader. I can see how some more affluent people don't want to spend that extra few minutes of time in thier life and live in disposable dream world and going to carmax at the loss of many thousands of dollars to save a few hours in time is a pattern in thier life. Of course when they can't make the 500K condo payment anymore their whole psychology may change from one of losing thousands to save a few minutes to losing years to save a few dollars.
