yeah, well we had rampant inflation at the time so some of the increase in corp earnings was just inflationary, no?

The thing about the 70s was that American companies were losing ground in many key areas esp autos and consumer electronics. And you had competitive CD rates etc. So there were many things that were not excellent as far as US companies don't you think?
