I've been to Sarasota and up to Anna Maria Island along the barrier islands there. There is a lot of development and traffic but it was still very nice. Especially at the end of the road on Anna Maria. Or maybe it was just going there in February from upstate NY and sitting on the beach :)

Nonrev, I've got a bunch of cousins near Moultrie at a little place called Doerun, like Donaldsonville in the wiregrass country, right? That corner of Georgia was a little like the extreme north in that it wasn't settled a whole lot till after the Civil War.

Sarasota is still nice, a little too crowded to suit me but still nice. As far as I'm concerned Southwest Florida is the finest place in the whole world, I always have liked this place. If the coast is to crowded there are still lots of sleepy little towns inland. Do you ever come back here to visit?
