In my life time, I went along with demonizing large groups of people. First there were the Germans, then the Japanese, followed by the Russians and now we have the Muslims and you guys.

Don't forget the French and the UN.

I'm real puzzled by what seems to be the average American's attitude on China. Either they think it is much poorer than it is, or much more socialist still than it is or that it is a superpower economically on a par with the US or that it is going to take on the US militarily... Either one extreme or the other. I think there is still some irrational fear of "communism" that has been drilled in to a lot of people here.

Hi Mary - I must not have gotten the Demonizing Memo update.

We have the "Axis of Evil" Iran, Iraq (now old), and North Korea

"The Axis of Evil Lite" Syria, used to be Libya, Vermont.

*****

Is there an "Axis of Evil World Trade" ?

Note that the US doesn't seem overly concerned about Venezuela.

Maybe I just haven't read the "Protocols of the Elders of Wal-Mart" which expains why buying US Treasury bonds is an aggresive act.....;-)

Contrast with real actions like Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces with 1000 + nukes, attack on Pearl Harbor, etc.

Best Regards, energyplay

If it ever came to where I needed to dig a foxhole to defend myself against your guys, there is no one I would rather share my foxhole than CB.

You'd probably do better with me managing the kitchen or the hospital (or the latrine ;^)), but thanks!

I think I am relatively trustworthy. I've been spending the past few weeks going through files and files of financial documents and other confidential documents from old petroleum companies and joint ventures and so forth from all over the world. Europe, Ukraine, China, the former Soviet Empire, USA, South America, into the shredder. All the "Stans" from back before most of us even knew there were "Stans."

Even some covert stuff, or at any rate people talking about bringing various pressures to bear on certain movements, albeit from years ago.

Every so often I've been thinking to myself, "I bet I could make a fortune with this."

But no, into the shredder it goes! Because I could just as easily go to jail, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. None of my business. In fact, I am looking forward to having this behind me!

As for the BS, I agree with you and Mq. I have no quarrel with the Chinese people. In fact, I am probably going to have Chinese inlaws very soon.

My dad "met" a Chinese lady from Guangzhou on the Internet, and she and her son are now living with him, and he's probably going to marry her soon.

Hear hear ... excellent post Mary ... but there may be those who do merit demonisation, like Condor says, consider the french, you know how they are, they don't even have a Statue of Liberty, or a word for entrepreneur

<<When push come to shove, I am on CB side>>

that's good, though unthinking, since you do not know what my side is, nor what it stands for

i doubt push will come to shove, because should it happen, all will stop

i have no quarrels at all with anyone, merely stating the obvious, which is very different from taking sides

calling of names and such is ... how shall i say, not above me

tweaking of whiskers and pulling of tails, now, that is fun, while i am doing something else, and waiting for computer cycles

these days i am busy cramming my iPod with my entire CD collection, and now have 3 days worth in a box sized at standard cellphone proportions

so i may tweak and pull, later, while listening to music

you notice, that not once did i speak of support for any war, and yet folks who support bloodshed and violence, and once in fact clamored for it, readying to have their kids do the nasties, argue against me, accusing me of wanting to send youngsters to war.

you also notice, not once did i call folks names, and yet, well, enough of that.

you should also take note, that their are a lot of patriotic folks on these threads, and yet each accuse the other of being one thing or another object, as if there is a right and wrong, as opposed to just is.

and then, as is usual in these space, we descend downward to defining words where they are obvious, and quibbling over meanings where thay are apparent

fun

love it

by the way, two trades just closed where i scored 71 and 82% in 4 weeks, as the market tanked

you had asked me once, a long time ago, how i could feel good about making moolah from distress, i now can answer definitively, i feel horrid, but not as bad as i would if i had lost money in a tanking market

back to computer cycles

chugs, jay
