Brian, last week was a stampede to sell. The herd is nervous now and any additional bad or uncertain news will just exacerbate the situation. Any perceived economic weakness will even have the bulls taking flight to protect themselves. Trying to apply a rational argument to convince irrational and emotional investors probably isn't very effective. Since 2000-2001 it is more prudent to have a flight to safety approach rather than suffer unnecessary financial losses. One either moves with the herd or gets trampled, IMO.
