CNBC -- Cramer said after the market close that he wouldn't want any SanDisk right now. To me this is good news, as Cramer does not have a record of very astute stock prognostications.

What's worrying many analysts, Cramer included, is the notion that the lackluster economy cannot support a consumer stock like SanDisk. After paying for gasoline, people don't have enough money to buy appliances that use flash memory. This myopic view of demand for flash memory ignores the fact that there is some demand outside the U.S., especially in Asian countries that are experiencing healthy economic growth.

Also it's worth noting an article in this week's Economist about Adobe and its new software that enables a person with a USB drive to fill out and transmit forms, eliminating a great deal of paper work that normally goes with taxes, medical payments, etc. The Adobe system is being tried out in Belgium and sounds, at least from the description in the article, is if it incorporates flash memory. This is just one more example of new applications for flash memory that will foster future growth, when consumers are tired of buying the latest digital cameras, iPODs, or camera phones.
