Could be a special part for blades, but even so, 68W TDP for 2.2GHz DUAL core?! That's damn impressive.

In fact, that almost suggests the 280 should be doable right now within a 95W TDP.

However, power does get very non-linear with frequency, especially with DSL, apparently.

Actually, I guess the Inq called this way back when. I hasn't looked closely enough. Slightly worse than they predicted (68W vs. 55W, 1.2v vs. 1.15v), but I guess I should've been more impressed at the time.

Current speculation: If I had to guess now, I would say there are many different power-points being offered:

There will be "regular" 1.35v 95W DC Opterons at 2.2GHz

There will be "blade" 1.2v 68W DC Opterons at 2.2GHz

Sometime in Q3 we'll see 55W and 30W DC Opterons at slower speeds and lower voltages, and more parts in Q4.
