rose~ i'm sorry to hear that. have had to do the same many a time. always hard to do, but we always know when it's "time". hurts us for awhile, but that's usually mixed with some relief and a feeling that it was the right thing. ~croc

shirly- sorry to hear about charlie. i know you'll miss him awful. i was talking to a pet owner friend at work today about spot. he's almost completely blind, almost completely deaf, has dementia, big fatty tumors on his chest, poops and pees almost anywhere anytime... it's a real pain for me but he doesn't seem to be in much pain himself. he still loves to eat and sleep. i'll wait until he's ready... when he's in pain. then it will be time. unless he kills ME first. <g> maybe i'll make some slippers out of him and it will still feel like he's under foot, eh? -phillip
