Well, if we can reverse this offshoring trend in the US, then tech companies will see their fortunes improve immensely imho. What is really amazing to me about this offshoring trend is how companies like oracle pretty much pioneered it, and championed it (even though anyone in the midst of an offshored R&D environment can easily see the promise and reality are far different)- without any regard for how offshoring US IT depts would affect their own businesses. Oracle sells CRM automation software. How much is that worth to a company who offshores their call center? Answer: nothing. Basically, these clowns esp in enterprise software ended up offshoring half their market away. Really stupid.
