They went off the deep end, and chose the arch-conservative. Decline in their market share will follow. :)

They operate well under monopoly, not so well in a competitive environment. But, I am not sure the way to go would be for example for Jaguar to start making little Coopers and calling them Jaguars.

One thing though is that JPII started the move away from socialistic philosophy, which hopefully the new guy will continue. No matter what the "product" is, competing successfully depends on realization that you are in a free market (in economic and idea sense).

I suppose that the word of god is just that, the word of god. As such it doesn't, or it should not change as the current human condition changes over time.

Just like the sun, the laws of god or a given god serve as a marker that should not change over time. They are what they are.

Your choice to follow them or not, but not your choice, or any pope, or any man to change them to your or anyone else's liking just to bring you in as part of a congregation.

Just my personal views. By the way, I haven't been to church in over 20 years.
