This just in:

Governor of new york just called out the army corps of engineers, declaring a three mile emergency around the throggs neck bridge. apparently so many bears are rushing to jump to their deaths, the corps has been called in to build emergency bridges to accomodate the growing crowds. a spokesman for the governor's office expressed concerns on the part of emergency management officials, the rush to jump may spread to the other bridges serving the new york metro area and by nightfall could reach the falls at niagra.

stay tuned.
