I hate to state the obvious, but an investor buys shares. Products are purchased by consumers.

An investor buys shares in a company that produces products. The company is in business to make a profit (Intel that is, AMD may be in business to simply attack Intel). That's the objective and the measure of success is the profit they produce and share price is theoretically a function of that. The superior product is, in my view, the one that leads to that end.
