Well, the Merc Comet turned into the Merc Cyclone around '65/'66 - with a 289/4BBL/4spd that would kick tushy and and take names. ..Likewise for the Falcon morphing into a Sprint GT, or whatever....

My Dad blew my mind and got us a kick-azz '65 Dodge Coronet 500 Sport Coupe (318V8, auto on the floor), after I had been begging him to get a Cyclone - having suffered with having to ride in an Edsel for a year or so. I did pretty good with the 'girlies' that summer...!!! Our cousin in FL was/is a huge Linc-Merc(-Edsel) dealer (in '59). The Edsel was really nice looking and a good ride in '59, but the previous versions trashed it - and the '60 looked like a Buick Riviera going backwards.

Besides my MGB, one of the coolest cars I ever had was a Renualt Caravelle that looked a lot like the 'B' but was rear-engined.
