i'm guessing it's outside, eh? it's hiding behind the clouds here, but the temperature is mild tonight... about 62F. i just came indoors from listening to the night sounds here. there are 3 species of anura calling in the wetlands and fields around here... a strong chorus of spring peepers from the flooded forest across the road.... a strong chorus of wood frogs from the small creek that runs across my farm, and the trilling of garden toads. also the peenting of woodcock that have taken up residence in the pasture beside my house... they used to be just back behind the barn but there seem to be more this year and they are nesting closer to the house. it would be nice to be able to sleep outdoors from spring through autumn. we have a screened in porch on our house and i sometimes sleep out there in summer. just a little too cold and damp for that at this time of the year though. ~croc
