Some progress.....

"To catalyse the role of women and enable their active participation in the process of development, I have ordered the programme administration to work on the new initiative to develop women leaders and enable our daughters and sisters to attain higher positions in the government and private sectors. We cannot ignore half of our population; our country needs the abilities of all its sons and daughters in order to fulfill the call of our country," he said.

Its good to hear that there is progress on this front in the Arab world.

I've often wondered how much progress the West has lost[never mind the Arab world] by keeping women in an inferior position for centuries. How many inventions; how many disease cures, how many advancements never happened because half the population was forced to maintain a secondary position? Would we be further advanced than we are now? I think so.

Hopefully this idea spreads in the Arab world.
