I hope they do talking ones. it seems it'd be rather simple to do. it does save everything so the doc can look at the "history" and see if she has been messing up. but it's rather a lot of work. you have a "bolus" that is a time released amount of insulin. then you check you BS and give a correction based on 120 optimal. then you count carbs when you eat and give a "food bolus" of 7.5 insulin for each 15 grams of carbs. whew. but she produces no insulin at all on her own now and the pump is a godsend. her doc started fighting for it 10 years ago and medicare would not approve it. lots of things could have been avoided if they had. but it beats the heck out of needles at every meal. :)

I read where cell phones can take dictation now, so you can send text messages instead of actually talking to the person. The utility of that escapes me.
