HAVING RUN UP THE WORST DEBT IN HISTORY, Bush speaks:

Which country has a higher national debt to GDP, the US or Japan?

Aside from that, bankruptcy should be relatively tough for those who have some means of potentially paying off their debts..

The laws have been far too easy over past years, and people have grown to abuse them. Some of it could also include reforms, such as forcing someone to downsize the quality of their home in order to qualify for bankruptcy.

Destruction of debt equates to destruction of money. That should only be done in hopeless situations where NPLs have no chance of being repaid and the financial burden is too great.

After all, there is always credit counseling.
