In Christianity, a "martyr" is someone who suffers death for the sake of his religion. In the new radical Islam, a "martyr" is someone who immolates both himself and many other people - soldiers, civilians, infidels, muslims, no matter - for the sake of jihad.

Now, if it's really all the same to you, then I suppose you can have no objection to the US or Israel taking a leaf out of the Roman Empire's books, and just eradicating the population altogether in trouble spots, say the Sunni Triangle or Jenin, until the troubles are crushed?

Because everybody's a "freedom fighter" to their own side, right?
