Of course the demand for salmon today is many times what it wuz before Alaska became a state.Alaska could never hope to supply 1/2 of American demand today even if the fishing fleet were allowed cart blanch.My point being that wild salmon can never again supply america's demand for fish.

BTW I understand that in some areas the salmon farming is done in a more natural manner. And sold as "organic" with a price somewhere in between that of wild and farmed.

Never say never as the lower 48 has done it.In WY where I live the locals are completely outraged about even the slightest attempt to reintroduce any. They may be a long way from extermination in Alaska but killing off the top predators in an attempt to attract tourists for hunting sucks .....IMHO
