Thanks for the post. I'm just interested in what is and really deplore the lengths that some will go to look like the winner of a debate. I agree with both sides of the fence on plenty of issues so if I word twist it would just bite me in the arse at some point. Your parents where wise beyond their years in selecting your spelling of our name. I have to admit it's been a burden having this version. Our problem seems to be that the Canterbury Tales fell of the reading list in most high schools. The most egregious mispronunciation of it came out as Godfrey .....much to my chagrin, that was one of my relatives, (well, that was uncle Eddy after a few beers!).
