Do nothing isn't really accurate. They are meddling all the time in order to appear productive so that they can be re-elected. As someone said earlier the days of Jefferson leaving his plantation to fulfill his civic duty and then leave to return home are gone. We have professional politicians today with only 2 concerns, line their pockets and be re-elected. And sadly their meddling is becoming more expensive and a larger burden with each passing year.
