The trouble with communism (i.e. why it's doubtful it will be rightly consigned to the dustbin) is that it aspires to the thoughts of the common man. Socialism is a tricky subject.

The fact is it requires an inspired and illuminated capitalist society to succeed as a nation. You need to spend money on infrastructure. My hero Brunel was regarded only as a just passable business proposition at the end of his work.

Fact is, looking after the common man (ok just to be PC, woman too) is an absolute must in creating a successful nation.

imho the USA PNAC crowd look like clueless dolts. UK Margerate Thatcher too. We don't build bridges, roads, widgets, or anything in the UK anymore. Tony Blair is a dolt following Thatcherism.

Democracy is about the majorities view after all.

Japan maybe in a resession, I think they have it about right though regarding politics and business though.
