I agree with you. France is incredibly irresponsible in this move, if not simply evil. How they can believe a short term gain is worth almost certain catastrophe boggles the mind.

Brian to clarify what may have been confused as me being callous toward animals, nothing could be further from the truth. I have land full with wildlife and I am careful and respectful of all of the creatures. I allow 10 to 20 people per year to hunt and only those I know will eat what they kill and their hunting actually improves the quality of their life. I don't allow bow hunting because, although many people migh be very skilled in archery, I have seen wounded animals that have died slow deaths from infection etc.
