i'm pretty sure that the networks won't allow certain RTL groups to buy airtime either

I am not sure why you would be surprised by that, Bill. If you think about it, have you ever viewed a PETA ad on national television? Do you think that somehow they just cannot afford to buy any national advertising time, even though they are the world's largest animal rights' organization and are well funded? Here is a link discussing turn-downs by CBS and Fox. Ingrid Newkirk also discusses the media ban when people ask her why PETA's campaigns are so sort of silly and sexist. The only way they can get national media attention is if someone reports what happens at a protest, because they are unable to get networks to buy their ads. Anyway, here is the link:
