Reading Jim Bakker's bio now. He was tempted by greed and sex and fleeced his flock, but he makes it clear he never liked evangelicals who crossed the line into politics, considering that immoral and beneath men and God. Not to mention something called the separation of church and state. He also thinks Falwell is a total shark and a major sinner who cannot be trusted.

I just saw that blowhard Dobson (the #1 evangelical political lobbyist) on Hannity-Colmes railing about judges "attacking freedom of religion". What a liar. What he really means is that judges don't let rightwing evangelicals take over schools and public institutions and force their will on everyone else. The evangelicals are trying to take away the freedom of religion by shoving theirs in our faces. Only their particular religion is allowable to them.

Neither of us knows exactly what each congressman thinks. I rather favor them wasting time on steroids and life issues, so that they can't dream up any more ways of stealing my money.
