Grainne and I have argued at length on hunting, and I don't think I've convinced her there's an ethical aspect to it.

I think hunting is disgusting, personally (even though I really like ManyMoose, especially his poems). Life is never really simple. I understand it when men were primitive and depended upon it for survival, but that is no longer the case. There is never the need to kill another creature to survive now. I have no idea whatsoever why people find hunting pleasurable. It seems to be dominance related. I agree with this quote about it:

Men hunt, I think, maybe because they have something wrong with their own equipment, and they need something else to shoot.

HOWEVER, I have much more respect for someone who hunts and makes clean kills and eats the meat than I do for someone who depends on factory farming to feed them.
