Howard Dean is a straight-shooting fiscally-conservative maverick social liberal. I wasn't for him in the primaries, but anyone who knows him knows he's a very honest man. Painfully honest sometimes. A total no BS guy. And moderate or conservative on quite a few issues. I'm glad he's not president but he's very serious in his new job and is no hypocrite, unlike the RNC's Ken Mehlman, another rightwing gay male parroting socially conservative rhetoric for his gay rightwing boss, Karl Rove, the kind of the dirty tricksters who would slander his own mother for a few extra votes.
