You can say that hunting is direct participation in the ecosystem, but that sounds very abstract. I am pretty sure when hunters go out, they are not thinking along those lines. Once people are hunting because of anything else than necessity--feeding their families--there seems to be an element of deriving joy and excitement from taking a life. You are out there in the forest or whatever doing your back to nature thing, and it is thrilling for you, but your thrill is created by deadening forever an animal's enjoyment of the forest.

It seems all to be much more about feelings and instincts rather than abstract thoughts, doesn't it?

How is vegan behavior closer to Tyson than hunting behavior, incidentally? I didn't understand that.
