Laz, As I said in my previous post, in my empiric experience pancreatitis is, to all intents and purposes, 100% fatal. Yes, it is inoperable.

I wasn't going to bring up pancreatitis, which is fairly common, particularly in people who drink too much but, as with cirrhosis of the liver, it can have causes other than excess alcohol intake.

My dog Laszlo had a singularly nasty, one-time bout with pancreatitis. We never did learn what had caused it. The only thing we came up with was that he tended to be high-strung and, just prior to the pancreatitis, something had happened which had been a major emotional upset for him. Go figure. - Holly
