AMGEN NET UP 24%; BOOSTS '05 OUTLOOK

Biotechnology company earns $854 million, or 67c a share, on strong product sales. Excluding items, Amgen earns 72c cents a share, which tops analyst estimates of 68c. Revenue rises 20% to $2.83 billion but falls short of estimates of $2.87 billion.
