Why is Israel so reviled by so many using the spurious logic of a Marcos? And whenever it becomes clear that it has something to do with dislike of Jews in one way or another the person who brings this up is dismissed as playing the race card. Well, I hope it's not racially motivated. I think some people just resent Israel for whatever reason. Hell, I disagree with many of their policies and past actions. But either way, people should reflect upon the REAL reasons that they criticize Israel (or any other democratic state). But they should also be willing to shine FAR MORE criticism on NON-democratic states ruled by despots and aristocracies. Israel is no angelic state.Sure, the purpose of creating Israel was to provide a homeland for Jews to find sanctuary from oppression and genocide inflicted by others. But compared to the other non-democratic regimes in the region, I'll support their democratic existence with whatever means necessary (as I would any other democracy). And many people forget (or deliberately ignore the fact) that Israel's population is 20% Arab, with full voting rights. I'm not sure that any new Palestinian state would be willing to grant citizenship to Jews living amongst them, let alone permit them to own property. After all, during the time that Jordan ruled the West Bank, it was a capitol offense to sell land to Jews. That sounds pretty racist to me.. Hawk
