thanks, m

i really find it hard to envision a situation whereby teachers can be web surfing while engaged in teaching and do so without some kind of repercussion

my assistant who was formerly a full time teacher told me she spent every spare minute in lesson planning and grading papers

i know she had an email addy at the school, but it was my impression there were strict controls on inet usage...i could be wrong about that, perhaps her controls were of the self imposed variety...i think i'll ask her about it the next time we have lunch together

and of course your are right that communication done on employers computers is not private

we even monitor the cell phone usage of our employees...personal calls are deducted from payroll

we don't disallow it, but we tell employees if you use the company issued cell phone for personal business there is a payroll deduction code that allows us to track the usage

I suppose the way around it is to use a personal wireless
laptop. Of course, that would be a
bit obvious if the usage is extensive............

assuming anyone is paying attention <gg>
