'Palestine shall be as jewish as England is english.' ... that was Weizmann, who was considered a moderate zionist, didn't openly support the Jabotinskys and Sterns of harsher, or more honest, intent .... the natives heard this loud and clear, of course ... they heard also the line in Balfour's letter about 'nothing shall prejudice the rights of existing non-jewish communities', but Balfour wasn't going to be present, the zionists were .... it is not possible for arabs to 'start a war of conquest' in this case, they did not move on Europe, europeans moved on them .... the great majority of dispossessed were civilians who did not even defend themselves, they simply fled the hostilities, and had everything stolen immediately ... very very immediately in some cases, in one it is said the neighbouring kibbutz looted and then bulldozed their homes and olive trees and everything flat the next morning after they fled

It may or may not be wise to ignore an army of one, depends on which one perhaps ... and often armies find allies, so then you have two armies of one each, and they tell two armies, etc ... one thing is sure - you go around taking enough people's land, and you'll be growing armies

Happy is not the word, but yes it might be somewhat encouraging to see you acknowledge the presence of indigenous, if only you didn't weasel straight off from that into some other feeble justification

Nothing you can ever say will justify the mindset that made the Absentee Property Law ... they're still using it, you know, now the period is six months absenteeism [the term has been changed back and forth over the years], so as soon as the walls and checkpoints and restrictions etc are able to keep somebody from his orchard or farm for half a year, poof it's not his any more, it's confiscated
