Pam,

I added Message 21253268 slightly to my holdings of Sandisk in the early gloom and doom surrounding the announcement of only a 17% quarterly revenue rise YoY, so it was especially gratifying to listen to the conference call while simultaneously watching SNDK gain almost 2 points.

As an old India hand myself, I was doubly pleased that the first three analysts on the Q&A were also Indian. Quite a tribute to the ascendancy of this remarkable subcontinent over the past ten years.

Sam

As per the prepared remarks from Sandisk-

I am very pleased to report that late in Q1 we began shipping and are now selling our products at Wal-Mart in the USA. Clearly this is a significant achievement for SanDisk. We also have started selling our products at Woolworth in Australia and have started selling our gaming cards at Target in the US. We have also started selling to a number of other new retailers.

Does anyone know around what time last Q (Feb, March? which week?) Walmart started having Sandisk products? What are the different types of cards they stocking (low density, high density, which form factors, etc.)? With a huge presence globally (for now it seems they are supplying cards only in the US) and as they ramp to stock-up cards at Walmart and Sales materialize, 2Q could be a big one. Also, those who follow WMT, any ideas what %ge of Sales come from outside of the US? But with clear visibility of 40MM already in Deferred Revs, the guidance of 20-30% bit growth from 1Q and 10-15% ASP decline seems a bit light or is it just conservative guidance and surprise the street with a quarter similar to 4Q of 2004?
