Smithee, The Smothers Brothers own a winery up in Napa Valley. I've been there. They make pretty good wine. Their Mom's Favorite White and Mom's Favorite Red aren't too bad.

Pat Paulsen, who died a few years ago, also had a winery up there. I believe he had a couple of low-dollar items, Refrigerator White and Refrigerator Red. They weren't too bad either.

John Hartford also died a few years ago (of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, I believe). He lived in the Midwest and did the riverboat thing.

BTW, I used to work with John Hartford's father, Dr. Carl Harford, who was the head of the Barnes Hospital Infectious Disease Department. Notice that Dr. Harford has no "T" in his name. John Hartford put the "T" in his name because everyone insisted on putting a "T" in his name, both in spelling and in pronunciation, so John figured, what the hey, and put the "T" in his name for expediency's sake. One day, my doctor boss stopped by my desk and asked, "Say, did you know Dr. Harford's son is on television?" I nodded. Then doc said, "You know, that boy probably makes more money in a year than his father has made in his life!" I never did meet John.

The Bravo Channel did a documentary special on the Smothers Brothers, entitled "Smothered." If you get the chance, it is well worth watching.
