"I almost never watch David Letterman and don't know what the "GE corporate handshake" is."

It's an unheralded classic. When GE bought RCA, which owned NBC, Letterman decided to deliver a fruit basket to the GE office in Manhattan. When he got there, he couldn't get in the building. He kept trying and got someone to call the head of security who came down to the lobby. When he walked up to Letterman, Dave extended his hand the shake hands. The GE building security chief extended his hand, but pulled it away last second like one might do as a joke. Dave kept replaying it on air, dubbing it the "GE corporate handshake".

Hey, I thought it was funny.

Hey, here's a bit of trivia for the thread: On NBC, when you see the peacock logo, there's a three note tone that's played. Anyone know the notes and why they are the notes they are?
