No, I have never hunted moose. Yesterday I saw two a couple of miles from the house, a cow and yearling still shedding their winter coat.

I am not sure that I will hunt moose, as I said to my sister yesterday when we watched the moose trot across the meadow. While I have no objection to hunting them, I put them in the category I have Canada geese in. That is, I derive more benefit from not hunting them than I would from hunting them. The only problem is that I enjoy watching Canada geese but I do not enjoy eating them, but with moose I enjoy both.

Moose do not need a .308 to even the playing field. If you annoy them sufficiently they are quite capable of stomping your lights out. Also, there is no model of .308 (or any other caliber) that can accommodate a moose's trigger finger.
