You can coast through K-12 without learning much if you keep your mouth shut and your nose clean.

this was true was along. teachers devote their time with those who are high performers. i never found a teacher spend time to motivate the average student who lacked the drive or interest in learning. these students fell by the way side until maturing later in life. at that point they chose to catch up on their education or find alternatives.
