Wonder if you have any statistics as to stock ownership excluding pension funds or retirement in Y2K before the stock market bubble burst?

Does this census info. count ownership of multiple dwellings by one family / person / legal entity?

Why would husband and wife need two dwellings?

You pointed out that "from 1980 to 2005 overall homeownership grew modestly from 65.5% to 69.2%". And that that doesn't seem to suggest a bubble.

The change in "homeownership rates" captures only a small part of the bubble.

My gardener purchasing seven rental homes, in addition to his existing home, did not change the "homeownership rate" at all since he was already a homeowner.
