And weakness was demonstrated at home because the US people were being told lies. And thats what opponents of this war believe and there is some justification for this, no? The problem Mike is that in a democracy even if the American people are as dumb as dirt, you have to make a case for war and continue to make that case. Once there is a whiff of dishonesty the case for war falls apart as it did in vietnam. Perhaps you are right and maybe we were a year away from winning when the war ended. But by that time the US people were agin it because they had been lied to over a very long period. To prevent that from happening here imho, we should give those stag-nation iraqis a swift kick in the ass--TIMETABLE for departure. Do you really want to be in the same situation next year fielding more posts like chucks?
